The Journey Begins

Come with the Bock Family as we learn, love, teach and adventure in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! To our families, students, friends and colleagues, this is an invitation to join our adventure! Zachary, Jackson, Kelly and Joshua will post blog entries here to share our learning and our journeys. We will miss you all so much so please comment and post as we try to bridge the distance from the northern to southern hemisphere!


We formally begin on July 21 but have been trying to learn as much as we can about is beautiful country.

We will live in an apartment on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. 






We will teach at Escola Americana do Rio de Janeiro.


We hear there are monkeys at EARJ that tap on the windows to try to get the attention of the students!


We can't wait to learn along with all of our students, family and friends as we discover Brazil!

    Are you really gone already? I can't wait until I open this up and see your smiling faces tucked safely in your new beachy apartment. Safe travels and exciting new adventures to all of you. I miss you already and school hasn't even started yet! The village will follow you.

    Hi Jamie,
    We are still here. We just received our plane tickets yesterday afternoon for leaving Aug. 16 and arriving on the 17th. We are all more than ready and excited to get going and get there. We are truly fortunate to have great people on both ends of this experience. We should have tea next week!

      Let's do it. I'd love to buy you lunch at CG Hooks one day. I am open every day but aug.8. Bring the whole family! Pick a day and let me know. The 16th will be here before you know it.
